Brandy Rich. The Bio

Home

From the young age of 8 months old, Brandy Rich, 18 today, has been competing in talent competitions on local, state, and national levels.  At the age of 2, Brandy convinced the MC at a talent competition to allow her to sing and perform “Jesus Loves Me”. That particular event didn’t have a talent division for her age. She went up during the intermission and, after she sang her little heart out, received a standing ovation for her performance. She made it very clear that she knew what she wanted. All she wanted to do was sing and dance, no matter what.

Brandy’s life began in a very strange way. It almost didn’t happen at all. While her mother was pregnant with Brandy, she went in for a routine checkup only to have doctors tell her that her baby had no heartbeat and would need to be removed by means of a DNC. But, her mother was adamant with a spiritual feeling from God that her baby was not a dead fetal pole. Only hours before the DNC procedure, her mother got a second opinion, which later resulted in the birth of a healthy baby girl. October 27, 1986 was the day the world got it’s first glimpse of the music’s scenes next alternative rock and R&B princess. Brandy Rich was born.

With her own explosive blend of alternative rock’s edge and R&B’s soul, Brandy has written songs that can “give you chills” to ones that make you want to “get up and dance like crazy”.

Growing up in a small South Georgia town, Albany, with a natural sense of entertaining in her soul, Brandy would play long hours with her little brother, Wayne, making up shows and plays that she would often beg her dad to film. Her family has always played a major role in both her life and music, encouraging and nurturing her undoubtedly God-given gifts.

Brandy’s music is much more than delicious ear candy, she is capable of true sentimentality-driven ballads, as she clearly demonstrated in her 9-11 dedication, “We Rise”.  She was asked by the American Red Cross to perform at several of their hosted events to promote the inspirational song to the hurting American public.

As many Americans were, Brandy was emotionally affected by September 11, 2001 and felt self-compelled to do something. However, she was only 14 at the time and living out of a hotel in Brentwood, Tennessee with her mother and little brother. She was at school when she found out. Since she was a freshman though, she wasn’t allowed to watch TV, so she received all her information from upperclassmen until she got back to the hotel later that day.

There wasn’t much she could do. She could, though, use what she does best; express herself through music. On September 13, Brandy began writing “We Rise” and completed it by the end of the month. She is donating proceeds generated from the sales of the single to the American Red Cross. She hopes this will aid in the healing of our country.

Brandy loves to spread her music in a positive way.  She went to California public schools to perform for the kids who maintained honor roll.  Not only did she get a tremendous response from them, but after her show, several of the youngsters approached Brandy pulling their shirts off, for her autograph.

With an immeasurable amount of raw talent, die-hard passion, and unstoppable drive, who knows what the future holds for this dynamic rising star.
